মুখারবিন্দ থেকে নিঃসৃত শ্রীমদ্ভগবদগীতাকে ভব-সমুদ্র অতিক্রম করার অবলম্বন রূপে গ্রহণ করেছে। প্রকৃতপক্ষে অনাদি, অনন্ত, বিভুচৈতন্য শ্রীকৃষ্ণের দিব্য স্বরূপ বা তার বিভূতির কথা কারও পক্ষেই জানা সম্ভব নয়। এমনকি তার প্রদত্ত শিক্ষাও যথাযথভাবে অনুধাবন করা বা উপলব্ধি করা সম্ভব নয়, যদি না তার নিজ জন তত্ত্বজ্ঞানী মহাজনেরা বা আচার্যবর্গ কৃপা করে তা উদ্ভাসিত করেন। এই প্রসঙ্গে শ্রীল প্রভুপাদ বলেছেন যে, আধ্যাত্মিক জ্ঞান লাভ করতে হলে “আচার্যবান পুরুষাে বেদঃ” হতে হবে। অর্থাৎ, গীতার নির্দেশ অনুসারেই আচার্য। উপাসনা করে তাঁদের আনুগত্যে তাঁদের কাছ থেকে এই দিব্য জ্ঞানের। প্রকৃত তাৎপর্য সম্বন্ধে অবগত হতে হবে। তারপর নিজেদের জীবনে তার যথাযথ প্রয়ােগ করে এই জড় বন্ধন থেকে মুক্তি লাভপূর্বক প্রকৃত স্বরূপে স্থিত হয়ে ভগবানের নিত্য আশ্রয়ে ফিরে যাওয়ার প্রয়াস করতে হবে। এই উদ্দেশ্যেই শ্রীল প্রভুপাদ শ্রীমদ্ভগবদগীতার সুকঠিন তত্ত্বকে অত্যন্ত সরল । করে সহজবােধ্য ও সাবলীল ভাষায় এবং মনােরম পয়ার ছন্দে “গীতার গান” রূপে উপস্থাপিত করেছেন, যা পাঠ করে পাঠক একাধারে এক অনুপম সাহিত্য রসের আস্বাদন করতে পারবে এবং তার অনুশীলনের মাধ্যমে পরমার্থের পথে, অর্থাৎ জীবনের প্রকৃত উদ্দেশ্য ভগবৎ-প্রাপ্তির। পথে স্বচ্ছন্দে অগ্রসর হতে সক্ষম হবে।
