    Coming Back – Bengali

    40

Since birth and death deal with the essence of our being, it is a subject of the utmost relevance to everyone.
Our reincarnation after death is a predetermined fact until we choose to break the bondage. First we must become open to the possibilities of life outside our empirical understanding.
Harvard biophysicist D. P. Dupey writes, ?We may lead ourselves down a blind alley by adhering dogmatically to the assumption that life can be explained entirely by what we know of the laws of nature. By remaining open to the ideas embodied in the Vedic tradition of India, modern scientists can see their own disciplines from a new perspective and further the aim of all scientific endeavor: the search for truth.?
Coming Back gives common examples from the Vedas that point to the truth of reincarnation and how we can make progress toward releasing ourselves from coming back.

Finding Our Lost Happiness – Hindi

    70

The Vedic literature has prophesised about this present age of quarrel and hypocrisy or the Kali-yuga. The Kali-yuga means the fourth age. There are four different kinds of ages in the vedic timeline: Satya-yuga, Treta-yuga, Ova para-yuga, and Kali-yuga. Just like there are six seasons, or four seasons in a year, similarly, in one day of Brahma there are one hundred cycles of four yugas. Four yugas means forty-three hundred thousands of years. It is a very long period. That is the duration of four yugas. When one thousand yugas pass, then one day of Brahma-twelve hours are finished. It is a big calculation. Anyway, there are four yugas-Satya-yuga, Dvapara-yuga, Treta-yuga, and Kali-yuga.
In Satya-yuga, the religious principles are followed strictly, cent percent. That is called Satya-yuga. And in Treta-yuga, twenty-five percent reduced. That means seventy-five percent religious principles and twenty-five percent irreligious. And in the Dvapara-yuga, fifty-fifty: fifty percent religious and fifty percent irreligious. And the Kali-yuga, seventy-five percent irreligious and twenty-five percent religious, gradually reducing to nil-no more religion. Then finished. Then there will be devastation. Again Satya-yuga will begin. This is the way of change of Satya-yuga-Satya, Trete, Dvapara, Kali. The duration of Satya-yuga is about eighteen hundred thousand of years. Eighteen hundred thousands of years. Similarly, Treta-yuga, about twelve hundred thousands of years. Similarly, Dvapara-yuga, eight hundred thousands of years. And Kali-yuga four hundred thousands of years. This is the beginning of Kali-yuga. Out of about four hundred thousands of years, we have passed only 5,000 years. Kali-yuga has begun just after the Battle of Kuruksetra. So we have passed

Light of the Bhagavata(Bhagavata Ka Prakash) – Hindi

    70

In 1961, Srila Prabhupada was invited to make a presentation at Japan’s Congress for Cultivating the Human Spirit. He expected that such an audience would appreciate descriptions of nature and consider autumn particularly auspicious, so he chose for his subject the twentieth chapter of the Srimad-Bhagavatam’s Tenth Canto which describes the autumn season in Vrindavan, the place of Lord Krishna’s appearance on earth.

For his presentation, he envisioned an illustrated book, juxtaposing Bhagavatam verses with authentic Asian art, to be prominently displayed at the conference. However, Srila Prabhupada wasn’t able to attend, and the project was shelved. Then, seven years after his passing, in 1984, the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust discovered the manuscript and commissioned artist Madame Li Yun Sheng to create the accompanying artwork for the book Srila Prabhupada had intended to call Light Of The Bhagavata.
The simplicity, beauty, and intricacies found in nature have captured the minds and hearts of the greatest philosophers throughout time. Even the greatest scientific minds of our time are at a loss to understand nature’s great mysteries. Light of the Bhagavata presents a clear and tangible illustration of the purpose and significance of nature and its origin.

Light of the Bhagavata captures the philosophy of India in a beautiful Chinese art and cultural presentation.

    Narada Bhakti Sutra – ENGLISH

    60

Narada-bhakti-sutra is a collection of concise, poetic verses (sutras) spoken by the immortal sage Narada on bhakti, devotional service to the Supreme Being, Krishna. Narada offers practical insights on what love of God is, what it isn’t, how it can transform our life, and what helps or hinders progress on the spiritual path.

A short history of the Narada Bhakti Sutra:In 1967, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada translated and wrote purports for thirteen of the eighty-four aphorisms (Srila Prabhupada called them “codes”) of the Narada-Bhakti-Sutra.In 1989, at the annual GBC meeting, they suggested, that Satsvarupa and Gopiparanadhana Prabhu complete this Narada-bhakti-Sutra. They were happy to accept the assignment, especially because of Satsvarupa’s involvement with Srila Prabhupada’s initial writing of the Narada-bhakti-sutra. Narada-bhakti-sutra was begun by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and completed by Satsvarupa dasa Goswami, one of Srila Prabhupada’s senior disciples and the author of many books on the science of bhakti.

Teachings Of Lord Chaitanya : The Golden Avatar ( Bengali )

    125

Krishna devotees are sometimes characterized as sentimentalists—at least by those who think that anyone who’d go out dancing and chanting in public couldn’t possibly have a sophisticated philosophy. However, in Teachings of Lord Chaitanya we find that at the heart of Krishna-bhakti is a depth of philosophical and theological understanding far beyond most critics’ power of conception.

Teachings of Lord Chaitanya (subtitled, “A Treatise on Factual Spiritual Life”) was first published in 1968. It is a summary study of the Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita, a multi-volume collection describing the life and teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who popularized harinama-sankirtana, congregational chanting of God’s names, throughout India during the fifteenth century. His movement bewildered the religious establishment, who considered His followers “emotionalists.” Mahaprabhu reminded them that sankirtana is recommended in the Vedas—the most comprehensive and time-honored spiritual writings on earth—as the primary process of God-realization for the modern era.

Teachings of Lord Chaitanya summarizes Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s conversations with influential scholars—the logician Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya and the Mayavadi sannyasi Prakashananda Sarasvati—as well as His closest followers, government leaders like Rupa Goswami, Sanatana Goswami, and Ramananda Raya. The subject of their talks is Krishna-bhakti, devotional service to Krishna, the Supreme Person.

In Teachings of Lord Chaitanya readers will find some of the most elaborate and ecstatic revelations of the science of God found in any spiritual tradition. Srila Prabhupada often referred to it as “post-graduate” theological study—with the Bhagavad-gita as the undergraduate text, and the Srimad-Bhagavatam as the graduate-level course material.

I have always been interested in religion, but before I met the Krsna conscious devotees, somehow I did not have the proper perspective needed to inquire fruitfully about spiritual life. The existence of a Creator is only common sense–but who is God? Who am I? My Hebrew School and the Oriental philosophy could never get satisfying answers to my questions. The Path of Perfection – English

    55

In February of 1969, Srila Prabhupada gave a series of lectures in Los Angeles on the sixth chapter of the Bhagavad-gita, which deals with the yoga system. Path of Perfection is a collection of these historic talks.

“No one really wants to sit down and meditate. Why should we? We’re meant for positive activity, for recreation, for pleasure.”

He explains that a perfect life—in which the goal of yoga is reached—is dynamic and full of activity. Our nature is spiritual, and spirit is the essence of everything that lives. Real yoga means to connect our activities with the Supreme Spirit—in straightforward, practical ways. If perfection is possible, why settle for anything less?

“Perhaps you have seen pictures of Krishna, and if so, you have noticed that Krishna is always jolly. If you join His society, you will also become jolly. Have you ever seen pictures of Krishna working with a machine? Have you ever seen pictures of Krishna smoking? No, He is by nature full of pleasure, and if you unfold yourself in that way, you will also find pleasure.”

In these absorbing talks, Srila Prabhupada deeply explores the philosophy of yoga as explained in the Sixth and Eighth Chapters of the Gita, showing clearly how these timeless teachings apply today. Learn about the nature of consciousness, techniques of meditation, karma, death, reincarnation, and even spiritual ecstasy.
